"Where Are We? Extended music practice on the internet".
Aspects of this papers opened my eyes to issues I never focused on, such as concepts of latency (due to the network) and the impossibility to synchronization to an "absolute clock" (due to perception of other performers) in remote music performance systems or shared sonic environments, other parts of this paper inspired ideas for my own professional work: it made me realize that in the future, for few of the classes I teach, I could aim at the creation of a "performance" in a virtual space generated across the internet as collaborative effort with a remote university, that is an exciting experience to look forward to.
